Revealed: Why Victoria Rubadiri is Set to Leave Citizen TV After 6 Years of Service

Citizen TV news anchor Victoria Rubadiri is set to bid farewell to Royal Media Services (RMS) after six impactful years.

Sources disclosed her imminent departure and hinted at her joining CNN as Africa’s correspondent.

The news comes amid a wave of exits from Citizen TV, including seasoned journalists like Hassan Mugambi and Chemutai Goin.

Rubadiri departure was commemorated by RMS staff with a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the respect and admiration she earned during her time there.

Her journalistic prowess was recognized globally when she won the prestigious BBC World News Komla Dumor Award in 2020, granting her a training stint with the BBC Academy and a role in their news team for three months.

Notable among her contributions is the impactful feature ‘Wombs of Sorrow,’ shedding light on the plight of women battling cervical cancer.

Rubadiri Career History

Victoria Rubadiri job history began during her university years. In 2007, she started working as an intern and assignment desk editor at WMGM-NBC 40 TV.

She used to write texts for the evening news programs and was a field news reporter. In 2008 Victoria started working as a personal assistant of Angela Crockett, founder and CEO of Angela Crockett Enterprise Inc.

She would write proposals, press releases and official letters.

However, television business was still more attractive to her, and Victoria started working as a pioneer News Presenter at the Capital TV channel.

Her popularity grew after she started working for Caputal FM as a Business Journalist and a news Presenter in 2012. Later, Victoria managed to start her own show, called Victoria’s Lounge, where she was a producer and a presenter.

She then joined NTV in December 2012 as news reporter and branched into anchoring, where she quickly established a name on the screen. In April 2018, she joined Citizen TV.
