With their hopes of signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli fading, Chelsea have turned their attentions to AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli, Sky Italia reports.
It says Blues manager Antonio Conte has offered £30 million for the 21-year-old — but Milan are determined to keep him and have rejected that initial bid.
But another alternative could be Torino’s Nikola Maksimovic, according to the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old Serbia international is also interesting Napoli, and the paper says that although they would offer £21.5 million for him “Chelsea have made it clear they are ready to offer more.”

Antonio Conte’s long and winding search for a central defender has also led Chelsea to Nikola Maksimovic of Torino.
Maksimovic, 24, has been refusing to train with his club amid long-standing interest from Napoli.
Torino claimed the Serbia international — who has been compared to countryman Nemanja Vidic — was not for sale but Chelsea have made it clear they are ready to offer more than the £21.5million proposed by Napoli.
