A video of an Akorino pastor delivering a woman who has been snatching married men sparks reactions

In recent days, a Korino bishop identified as Johanna, also known as Danson Gichuhi, has found himself embroiled in a social media storm after a video depicting him administering ‘blessings’ to a female congregant went viral.

The controversy ignited a broader debate among Kenyans, prompting reflections on the delicate balance between religious practices and ethical conduct.

The video in question portrays Bishop Johanna engaging in what many have deemed as inappropriate behavior, as he touches the female congregant and applies ointment to various parts of her body, including intimate areas, while she lays on her back.

This act intended as a form of deliverance to aid the woman in overcoming marital challenges.

Addressing the accusations leveled against him, Bishop Johanna defended his actions during an interview with Kururia TV.

He explained that the incident captured in the video was part of his routine practice of deliverance, wherein he applies anointing oil to alleviate specific ailments reported by his followers.

According to him, the application of oil to the woman’s stomach and private areas was a necessary step in addressing her reported discomforts.

“I do a lot of deliverance to my followers,” Bishop Johana said.

“You do not do deliverance for someone with stomach problems by applying oil on the head. You have to apply the anointing oil where the pain is.”

Despite facing criticism for his actions, Bishop Johana maintained that his intentions were pure and that he had no ulterior motives.

“I have a wife, I have children, and I have a lot of things. So those ones complaining about how I was performing my deliverance are those ones who are speaking out are my enemies,” he said.
