Radio Africa-owned radio station Homeboyz Radio is gearing up for new changes on its Evening Drive show as they welcome the youngest Drive show host in Kenya.
Jakes Nyanjom, who has been hosting the late-night show on Homeboyz, will be joining Lotan Salapei on the Drive show dubbed ‘Boyz Club’.
Jakes will be replacing seasoned radio host Kerry Martin, who exited the radio station after 9 years.
While exiting the station, Kerry said, “It’s been nine years on Homeboyz Radio. Today is a special day for me because it’s my last day in the boys’ club, and it’s my last day on Homeboyz Radio. I will miss you guys so much, but don’t worry; you’ll still see me around.”
Nyanjom, who is the son of legendary radio host Joyce Gituro, is among the fastest-rising radio personalities in Kenya.
At only 18, Jakes had one of the biggest late-night shows that used to run from Midnight to 5 am – Monday to Friday.
He is still a student at Daystar University, pursuing a degree in Mass Communications.
He says that he is excited about the new move, which serves as promotion from the station’s management. Jake mentioned that his focus will be on making the Drive show better.
He has worked at Homeboyz Radio for a year now, and his promotion is a result of his hard work and consistency in radio.
