Chinga MCA Paul Ngiria received underwear donations.

Members of the Nyeri County Assembly donated undergarments to one of their colleagues, so that in future, he can avoid embarrassment.

Wamagana MCA Jesse Kamuri, presented vests and underwear on the floor of the House as gifts to colleague Paul Ngiria, the Chinga Ward MCA.

The vests and underwear were a donation from Maendeleo ya Wanaume after Ngiria was involved in a scuffle that resulted in his clothes getting torn last week, following personal differences with a colleague, Rugi Ward MCA Githaiga Njoroge, outside the assembly.

“It is a matter of shame that a grown man can be walking around without inner garments and after the scenes witnessed in the assembly, I think these garments will help our colleague to cover up,” Kamuri said, adding that grown men should wear vests to avoid showing off their chests to children and women who are not family members.

“We are very happy that the organisation (Maendeleo ya Wanaume) has seen it fit to help our friend, because underwear is a very important item of clothing,” Kamuri said.
