A 71-year-old man was on Monday sentenced to life imprisonment by an Eldoret court after he was found guilty of defiling a two-year-old girl.
The accused Lucas Omusule, is said to have committed the offence between May 2021 and June 4, 2022.
According to a statement from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), four witnesses, including a doctor testified that the minor had suffered continuous defilement.
“The court, after carefully considering the evidence, found the prosecution’s case to be convincingly proven beyond a reasonable doubt and thus convicted the accused,” reads the statement.
The ODPP also disclosed that the accused had previously been convicted and was serving a life sentence and another 40-year sentence over offences of defilement that he committed around the same time within Huruma estate in Eldoret.
