In a statement acquired, Chipukeezy disclosed that the show’s suspension stemmed from the failure of the state-owned broadcaster to fulfill its payment obligations for several months.

The statement, endorsed by Ufalme Entertainment director Michael Muthama, highlighted concerns over delayed payments from KBC since November, severely impacting the show’s production.

“Dear valued partners, suppliers, artistes and fans. We hope this message finds you well. We at Ufalme Entertainment wish to address a matter that has been of concern to many of you. It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the ongoing delay in payment from our media partner, KBC. Since November, we have experienced significant delays in receiving payments from KBC, despite our best efforts to meet our commitments to all stakeholders involved in the production of The Chipukeezy Show,” the statement read in part

Despite the setback, Chipukeezy assured stakeholders, including fans, partners, suppliers, and artists, of ongoing efforts to address the payment delays with KBC and expressed optimism about the show’s eventual return.

Acknowledging the impact of the delayed payments on various stakeholders, Chipukeezy reiterated his commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity throughout the ordeal.

He extended gratitude to loyal fans for their unwavering support and assured them of a comeback once the outstanding payment issues were resolved.

“The Chipukeezy Show,” which debuted on KBC on September 11, 2023, garnered popularity for its focus on promoting and nurturing young talent in Kenya. Airing every Monday from 8 pm to 9 pm, the show aimed to empower and monetize budding artists, reflecting Chipukeezy’s dedication to supporting emerging talent.
