Talented singer-cum-actress Sanaipei Tande has taken to her social media, calling out Kalasha Awards and Ababu Namwamba over unpaid award money, a year after the ‘Kina’ thespian won a gong.
Calling out the Kenya Film Commission in the same breath, the ‘Amina’ singer faulted the parties involved for “No prize money and no communication” for a year gone by
“….but 167M set aside for #KNT renovations in bids to develop and nurture NEW talent! What of the existing talent?” She questioned.
The winners of last year’s awards had been promised Sh 200, 000 as the equivalent of their trophy, while the Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts CS vowed to double the money.
All three of the erratic parties the singer called out have hitherto yet to respond.
Tande carried the day with a Best Lead Actress in a TV Drama series win at the Kalasha Awards in 2022. “Thank you to EVERYONE who voted! Mafans hata kama nilisahau kwa speech sababu ya haraka bado nawapenda na nawashukuru for all your support! God bless you! KINA IZIDIIIII,” She wrote at the time.
