A man from Kisii County, who had been working abroad in Canada, returned home with high hopes of seeing the grand house he believed his wife had been diligently constructing with the money he had sent over the years.
However, his anticipation quickly turned to disappointment and shock when he discovered that the house was incomplete and the funds he had entrusted to his wife had not been used as intended.
In an emotional interview with Brighton Thee PL on YouTube, the man, identified only as Ongiri, recounted how he had sent substantial amounts of money to his wife for the construction of their family home.
He had trusted her completely, not involving his mother in their financial affairs. However, upon his return, he found that his trust had been betrayed.
Ongiri revealed that he had sent around Sh 150,000 recently, believing it would cover the cost of windows for the house. To his dismay, not only were the windows missing, but the house itself was far from completion.
“Even recently, she had asked me for money to buy some windows. I sent around KSh 150k and said it would cost KSh 90k,” he told the YouTuber, adding that the total amount he spent was Sh5.2 million
His attempts to reach his wife for an explanation went unanswered, deepening his sense of betrayal.
The situation took a heartbreaking turn when Ongiri confronted his wife, and she confessed to deceiving him. She admitted to sending him photos of a neighbor’s house under construction instead of their own, pleading for forgiveness as her husband broke down in tears.
This revelation left Ongiri shattered, as he expressed his determination to recover the misused funds and rebuild his life. T
