Sam Nyamweya, a former Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) president and a Kisii Elder, has come to the defense of Millicent Omanga, the Ministry of Defense Chief Administrative Secretary, after her bedroom videos were leaked online.
Nyamweya noted the profiling and body shaming of Omanga and pledged to defend her from criminal perverts and political blackmail.
“As a community, we see this as part of the evil to blackmail and destroy the country’s female leaders who have with unequaled boldness stood out by confronting sexual, body shaming, and other despicable stereotypes that denigrate and undermine emerging women to deny them their space in national leadership,” said Nyamweya alias the ‘Big Sam’.
Nyamweya called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to investigate the matter and bring to book the perpetrators of the crime.
“I call upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to get to the bottom of the matter and bring to book the perpetrators of this crime. As a senior member of the Abagusii community, I will mobilize resources at our disposal- legal or otherwise- to unearth the criminal perverts behind the dastardly blackmail,” added Nyamweya.
Omanga’s bedroom videos were leaked on social media, causing her to trend for two days.
The video, which appeared to show her half-naked, was taken from what appeared to be a hotel room. The person who recorded the video captured Omanga from all angles, and several female politicians confirmed that it was indeed her in the video.
Omanga responded to the viral video, insults, and ridicule with a Bible verse, Luke 10:19, which reads, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”
