FKF now goes after Aussems after fans’ trouble during Homeboyz clash

AFC Leopards are facing severe penalties after fan trouble caused the abandonment of their FKF Premier League match against Kakamega Homeboyz.

The incidents occurred during the match at Bukhungu Stadium, which was abandoned in the 31st minute when Leopards fans stormed the pitch and attacked the referee.

The FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee has now ruled that Kakamega Homeboyz should be awarded the match on a three points-two goals basis.

AFC Leopards will be docked three points from their already accumulated points, and they must cater or refund for the medical costs of the center referee.

Additionally, the club will have to play their next four home FKF-PL matches behind closed doors, pay a fine of Sh500,000, and face disciplinary proceedings for the conduct of their coach, Patrick Aussems, and team manager, Lawrence Webo.

The trouble reportedly started when Kakamega Homeboyz goalkeeper, Farouk Shikalo, handled the ball outside the box, and Leopards fans demanded that he be shown a red card.

The center referee did not send off Shikalo, which angered the fans and led to hundreds of them storming the pitch and attacking the referee.
