A young teacher from Embu County tragically took his own life after being rejected by his ex-girlfriend.
According to reports, the young man left behind a note expressing his anguish over the breakup and his inability to cope with the thought of his ex-girlfriend moving on.
What’s particularly distressing is the fact that despite reaching out to 17 people for help, the young teacher felt unheard and unsupported.
“Just decided to rest in peace. I have tried all means but it has been in vain,” the suicide note read in part.
The note also revealed the young man’s specific wishes for his funeral arrangements, including a desire to be laid to rest on Valentine’s Day.
“I have pleaded with (the ex-girlfriend) but all has fallen on deaf ears,” he regretted.
Furthermore, the young teacher’s decision to leave behind instructions for his relatives to search for any potential children he may have had underscores the complexity of his situation and the depth of his despair. It’s a sobering reminder that mental health struggles can affect every aspect of a person’s life, and that we must take them seriously.
