AFC Leopards’ defender Kayci Odhiambo will make his return to the team’s lineup after being sidelined for three weeks due to an injury
The announcement was made by the club’s coach, Patrick Aussems, who confirmed that Odhiambo would feature in Wednesday’s league match against Bidco United.
“Kacyi has been injured, and because he is suspended for the Cup quarterfinals, he will be back on Wednesday. He will play for 90 minutes in that game,” he said.
Odhiambo suffered the injury during a league match against Tusker FC at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The player was initially expected to return for last weekend’s match against Homeboyz, but he was not involved in the game. On Sunday, he was also not in the squad that drew 2-2 with KCB at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.
The coach also promised wholesale changes for the match against United as he focuses on the quarterfinal tie against the Dockers.
“I am happy, and that is why I did not make any changes because I wanted my players to play 90 minutes, and on Wednesday you will see more changes. The whole team will change; it will be a rotation. It is a good point.”
AFC Leopards played their first of four home games behind closed doors due to sanctions imposed on the club after the trouble witnessed during last weekend’s match against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
