Kenyan football fans around the world can catch the Harambee Stars’ international friendly match against 2022 FIFA World Cup hosts Qatar on Alkass Sports Channels via the URL https://www.alkass.net/.
The match, which shall be the Stars’ fourth international friendly this year since Kenya’s return to international football, is set to be played on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al-Wakrah, starting at 6.15 p.m. EAT.
Ahead of the match, the team trained at the facility on Wednesday evening, with coach Engin Firat hoping to have all his arsenal fit and ready for Thursday’s showdown.
Kenyan fans in Qatar can buy tickets for the match from the Qatar Football Association (QFA) website via the URL http://tickets.qfa.qa.
The Kenya team left for Qatar in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and rested before taking to the pitch for a short session on Wednesday evening. Coach Firat traveled with a squad of 24 players, consisting mostly of foreign-based players.
The match, along with the one against South Sudan on Tuesday, is part of Kenya’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers that commence in November. Kenya is in Group F alongside the Ivory Coast, Gambia, Gabon, Burundi, and Seychelles. The group winner will grace the World Cup in the US/Mexico/Canada.
