Suspects Captured on Syokimau CCTV Escape on Foot in DCI Car Chase

Detectives were astounded by how suspects wanted for burglary and trespassing in Syokimau evaded their nest in a high-speed car chase on Friday, June 23rd.

Police claimed that the suspects defied police orders to stop forcing the detectives to initiate a pursuit from Kasarani to the Baba Dogo area.

However, the suspects slipped away from the police radar as they opted to escape on foot. As police navigated through the highways and intersections, the suspects vanished into the slum, leaving the police stranded.

“Staging a sting operation, a team of DCI’s Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau detectives caught up with the suspects at Roasters area in Kasarani.

“The occupants, however, abandoned the vehicle at Ngei Estate and escaped on foot, leaving behind the car,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed.

“Proper documentation has been done and the recoveries preserved as exhibits. Meanwhile, the pursuit of the suspects who escaped and any possible accomplices is ongoing,” read the statement in part.

Despite the suspects fleeing, the investigative agency narrated that they recovered electronics believed to have been stolen in Syokimau and other estates.

“Upon search, five TV sets, a PlayStation 5, a Lenovo laptop, crowbars, metal hooks, and a bunch of keys were recovered,” DCI added.

According to the sleuths, the suspects were using fake number plates to evade arrests, with several number plate stickers found in the vehicle.

DCI, nonetheless, expressed optimism over nabbing the wanted fugitives soon.

The high-speed car chase came days after CCTV footage captured the suspects breaking into Syiokimau homes forcing Kenyans to raise the alarm over the increased security in the area.

Residents claimed that the group targeted apartments during the day when most of them were at work.
