Security committee commits to maintaining peace during elections

The Eastern region security and intelligence committee says it is ready to assist the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in conducting a peaceful election today (Tuesday) 9th August 2022.   

Regional coordinator Evans Achoki says 16,000 police officers will be deployed in various constituencies in order to strengthen security in the region during the election.
