A Live Eye Production, Reckless follows the tumultuous lives of the Sonoko brothers, who find themselves at a crossroads following a tragic accident during an illegal street race that changes their lives forever. Forced to flee their city comforts, the brothers must navigate the harsh realities of life in a remote village, confront their troubled past, and prove they are worthy heirs to their family’s legacy.
Meet the cast:
Brian Abajah (Single Kiasi) is Pete Sonoko: A vain, entitled 23-year-old shaped by wealth and privilege, he struggles to find purpose and humility.
Sammy Okore (Machachari) is Mika Sonoko: A laidback, fun-loving 18-year-old who enjoys partying but lacks the work ethic to excel at his goals. He has a tense relationship with his older brother, Pete. . He is also a ladies’ man who easily falls in love with any girl who shows even the smallest interest in him.
Godfrey Odhiambo (Malooned) is Edward Sonoko: The self-made patriarch of the Sonoko family, whose journey from slum hardship to business success is overshadowed by disappointment in his sons’ recklessness.
Georgina Mbira (Our Perfect Wedding) is Melinda Sonoko: A strict and distant mother whose tough love creates tension with her sons.
Ntinyari Mburukua is Ella: A headstrong young woman from the remote village who instantly disapproves of the brothers, seeing them as selfish and spoilt.
Ann Muli (The Chocolate Empire) is Debbie: A younger woman who competes for Pete’s attention and is a nemesis to Ella.
Eddie Mbugua (Igiza) is James: A cunning antagonist whose machinations threaten to bring the Sonoko family to ruin.
Joyce Musoke (Wise Woman) is Agatha: James’ pragmatic wife, whose loyalty endures despite his scheming.
Wanjiru Marima is Ziki: The younger sister to Ella.
Reckless also stars Joan Kenduywa, Benard Marie, Alex Mwangi (Neema), Mavoko Mbatha, Brian Ogutu, Susan Karani, Nyawira Gichuhi, Zeraya Ramtu, Brian Furaha (Somewhere in Kole) and Kevin Mbayagi.
This gripping drama is brought to life by Live Eye Limited, with Auka Gecheo and Eddah Kiruhi at the helm. Reckless is directed by an exceptional trio: Carol Ochieng (Selina, Salem), Gilbert Lukalia (Kam U Stay, A Merry X-Mess), and Isaya Evans (Second Family, Nilichoma). Jim Malakwen (Faithless, Igiza) serves as head writer.
