President William Ruto has dissolved the Cabinet after dismissing all Cabinet Secretaries from the government.
Speaking at State House, Ruto said only Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi will remain in government.
According to the President, the decision was in line with Kenyans’ requests during the recent statewide demonstrations.
During his announcement, the Head of State instructed the Principal Secretaries of the relevant Ministries to take responsibility.
“Upon reflection and listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said and after holistic appraisal of the performance of my Cabinet and its achievements and challenges
“I have today in line with the powers given to me decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the CSs and AG except the PCS and CS for Foreign Affairs and the office of the DP is not affected in any way,” he added.
Following the decision, Ruto stated that he would initiate contacts with all sectors and political formations, including Kenyans in both the commercial and public sectors, in order to establish a broad-based government.
