In what promises to be an intense showdown, Kakamega Homeboyz Chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has sent a stern warning to AFC Leopards and their fans ahead of their FKF Cup semi-final clash at Nyayo Stadium.
Shimanyula’s statements comes days after AFC Leopards’ broke a seven-year jinx against their arch rival Gor Mahia in their 96th Mashemeji derby.
With the MozzartBet domestic cup offering both teams a chance to secure silverware this season and earn a chance to participate in the CAF Confederation cup, Shimanyula wasted no time in making his intentions clear.
He confidently stated that AFC Leopards should prepare themselves for a resounding defeat, as nothing will deter Homeboyz from emerging victorious.
“AFC Leopards must be ready for a beating; they must get prepared to lose, and nothing is going to stop us [Homeboyz] from beating them,” Shimanyula said.
Shimanyula even went a step further, targeting AFC Leopards fans directly. He advised those susceptible to pressure-related issues to take their medication before attending the match.
“My only worry, for now, is for AFC fans: if you know you suffer from pressure-related issues, please take your medicine before coming to the stadium, and they should also carry painkillers to consume after the game; it will be a total massacre that they will regret watching.
“By the end of Saturday, we will know who between Homeboyz and AFC is the best, we will beat them in front of their fans, and we will show them how to play football. I want their fans to come in large numbers and witness their team losing.”
In their previous league encounter, Kakamega Homeboyz secured a 1-0 lead before the match was abandoned due to crowd trouble. The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) awarded the match to Homeboyz, and AFC Leopards also lost three points and were slapped with a sh 500,000 fine.
Additionally, AFC Leopards fans were banned from attending their team’s four consecutive home matches.
