Kenyans are calling for the arrest of Daadab MP Farah Maalim after a video of him making provocative remarks about young Kenyan demonstrators surfaced.
In an undated video that has since gone viral, the MP claimed that if he were Kenya’s President, he would have “slaughtered” 5,000 young demonstrators each day.
According to the video translation, Maalim was criticized Generation Z for attempting to march to State House during the anti-finance Bill 2024 protests.
He said that the young individuals who marched to the streets came from wealthy families and were dropped off in the capital with the sole intention of wreaking havoc.
“This was an attempted coup, a clear attempted coup. Children of wealthy business owners, wealthy parents and kids raised on ill-gotten wealth, 80% from one tribe were dropped off in downtown and told to riot and take over State House and Parliament buildings,” he said.

Maalim openly stated that if he had ruled the country, he would have killed thousands of people.
“God forbid if I was president I would have slaughtered them, 5,000 of them daily. Serious, there is no two ways about it,” he added.
Despite numerous evidence indicating that the video was not altered with, Maalim claims that it was doctored and is misleading.
He was obliged to clarify his position on the video during an interview with KTN News, where he stated that his opponents are working against him.
“It’s all editing, cutting and pasting, taking a word from here, another one from here and putting it together. There is a lot of nonsense there. It’s Somalis basically who would do that because I weighed in on their politics. It’s not the true picture,” he claimed.
