Content creator Miss Trudy has publicly addressed recent speculation regarding her marriage to her Ghanaian husband, Wode Maya.
The couple has become the subject of online discourse following rumors suggesting they may be on the verge of divorce.
In a video, Miss Trudy sought to clarify the situation surrounding her marriage.
The speculation arose after she participated in an interview with another Ghanaian content creator, during which she candidly discussed her life and marital relationship.
Her honest responses to various questions led to some misunderstandings among the audience.
Miss Trudy explained that due to their demanding schedules, she and Wode Maya are unable to spend as much time together as they would prefer, as both frequently travel, which restricts their opportunities to connect.
“He asked me a couple of questions, and I answered truthfully. For example, he asked me, ‘Do you and Wode Maya spend enough time together?’ And I said no, because that’s the truth. We don’t spend enough time together because he’s always traveling… And I also end up traveling a lot,” she said.
Miss Trudy has also acknowledged her ongoing challenges with mental health and her adjustment to life in Ghana.
The transition from Nairobi to Ghana has proven to be difficult for her, primarily due to the variations in cuisine, cultural practices, and climate.
She has recognized that her life is not without its imperfections and that she has encountered various obstacles, including experiences of loneliness and depression.
“Another question was how I was doing and I said not very well. I was depressed and it’s life. One thing people do online is fake that they have a perfect life. My life is not perfect. I have some ups and downs
“One of them is moving toa new country. I’m born and raised in Nairobi, then I move to Ghana. It comes with it’s own fair of challenges. I don’t have friends, the food, culture and the weather is different,” she said.
Subsequent to the interview, Wode Maya found himself subjected to a series of online assaults.
Certain internet users labeled him a narcissist and alleged that he mistreated Miss Trudy.
“I wouldn’t say Maya is a narcissist. He’s definitely not perfect and so am I. I just want you guys to be kind. We are two different people from different cultures and we are learning from our mistakes. We are going to do better,” she said.
In response to the divorce rumors, Miss Trudy firmly stated that she has no plans to terminate her marriage with Wode Maya.
She conveyed her wish to age alongside him and denied allegations suggesting that she coerced him into marriage.
“God forbid! I don’t want to get divorced. When I was getting into marriage, I knew I wanted to be there until the end. I want to grow old with Maya. I’m not trying to look anywhere else,” she stated.
