Meet CS Kithure Kindiki’s Brothers Who are All Professors

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki comes from a family of nine children that includes at least five professors.

The CS and his four other brothers all have PhDs, while their sisters each have a Masters’ degree and are working on their PhDs.

Kithure Kindiki earned a PhD in International Law from South Africa’s University of Pretoria in 2002.

He graduated from South Africa’s University of Pretoria with a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Human Rights Law and Democracy in 2000.

Kindiki earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Kenya’s Moi University in 1998.

He also pursued the Advocates’ Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies at the Kenya School of Law in 2001.

Professor Jonah Nyaga Kindiki, on the other hand, received his PhD from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom in 2004.

He holds the position of Full Professor of International Education and Policy at Moi University’s School of Education.

Nyaga has 116 publications and has guided 40 PhDs and 174 Master’s Degree candidates to completion.

He was previously the coordinator of several educational programmes, the Head of the Department of Educational Management and Policy Studies, the Dean of the School of Education, and the Project Leader for the East and South African-German Centre of Excellence in Educational Research Methodologies and Management (CERM-ESA).

Stephen Kithinji Kindiki is a lecturer of Daystar University’s Department of Languages and Performing Arts.

He’s taught English grammar, phonology, first and second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics.

He also enjoys Morphology, Semantics/Pragmatics, Forensic Linguistics, Intercultural Studies, and Translation and Interpretation Studies. Prof. Kimbo-Sure, Ngugi wa Thiong’o, Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, and Prof. J. S. Mbiti are among his most significant literary influences.

Prof. Isaiah Iguna Kindiki is the family’s second most well-known member, behind his brother Kithure, due to his political involvement. Isiah is the Vice Chancellor and CEO of KCA University.

He is a Professor of Soil Science with over 28 years of teaching and research experience, 19 of which were spent in high university administration positions.

He has a PhD in Soil Science, an MSc in Soil Science, a BSc in Agriculture, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education and Training.

Prof. Moses Mpuria Kindiki has a PhD in Political Economy and Development from University College London and was awarded the Global Development Network’s Second Place Medal for Outstanding Research on Development in 2004.
