Renowned singer Peter Omwaka, popularly known as Guardian Angel, has issued a stark warning to his fellow artists: steer clear of media interviews.
In a candid and impassioned plea captured in an undated video clip, Guardian Angel, accompanied by his wife Esther Musila, voiced his concerns, asserting that such engagements pose a significant threat to an artist’s career trajectory.
The clip, now circulating on various platforms, showcases Guardian Angel reproaching some artists for their involvement in media interviews. With conviction in his voice, he implores them to cease immediately and redirect their focus solely towards crafting music.
According to Guardian Angel, media interviews carry the potential for exploitation, wherein the media may manipulate an artist’s words or actions to sow seeds of shame and ridicule.
“Let go of these interviews, focus on creating music. Forget about these interview matters. People want music, not discussions about who did what or who didn’t do what,” Guardian Angel passionately emphasizes in the video.
He further elucidates his point, cautioning against the allure of cameras and advising artists to decline any interview requests. In his view, interviews not only fail to nurture an artist’s career but also have the potential to erode it.
“Watu wanaumauma hizo vitu mnasema halafu watazitumia against you. So wachaneni na hao kabisa. Hao ndio wanawaua. Kataa camera kabisa, kataa camera. Imba tu. Ile siku unaonekana kwa camera ni kushoot video, sio kuongea,” he added.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Guardian Angel’s personal life has also captured public attention, particularly his marriage to Esther Musila, who is notably older than him. D industry.
