Singer and renowned entrepreneur Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has raised concerns about her safety, alleging that she was attacked on Wednesday morning.
In a statement on her Facebook page, the 43-year-old musician claimed that her life is in danger, hinting that some politicians from her home county of Migori, whom she did not name, are targeting her.
She claimed to have been assaulted by unidentified thugs while she was at a county government office before proceeding to a police station to file a report.
“So, my life is in danger in Migori County, I never saw this coming. 🙏 Alright, if Migori politicians want to kill me, don’t use thugs to pass your messages, just shoot me,” Akothee said on Wednesday afternoon.
She added, “I had a revelation from God this morning, I will inform you later. Investigation is still ongoing. I am at the police station; some thugs attacked me this morning at the Migori County Treasury Office. They gathered at the front door expecting me to leave through the same door. I exited through the back door. Once they realized I had left, they ran to intercept me at the gate. County guards came, laughed with them, and left, saying they would show me dust in Migori 🤔.”
The mother of five alleged that she was attacked by unidentified thugs while she was at a county government office.
She accompanied her claims with a video showing a police car following her car as she was escorted out of her county.
“It will not succeed in keeping first-year students away from school today, which was terrifying 🙏It’s becoming chaotic,” she said.
