In a recent interview, Edna Awuor has bravely opened up about her romantic involvement with the late Kelvin Kiptum, a celebrated marathoner whose untimely demise shocked the sports world.
According to Awuor, their relationship began in 2019, despite Kiptum being married at the time.
She acknowledged being fully aware of his marital status but chose to engage in a romantic affair nonetheless.
Kiptum would reportedly spend most weekdays at Awuor’s house, indicating a significant level of intimacy and commitment on his part.
What makes this narrative particularly intriguing is the apparent acknowledgment of the affair by Kiptum’s wife. Awuor revealed that Kiptum’s wife was aware of her existence and would even inquire about his whereabouts.
Initially, Kiptum’s wife reacted with anger and allegedly insulted Awuor upon discovering the affair. However, over time, she seemingly came to terms with the reality of her husband’s infidelity and ceased the insults.
“At first when she found out that I was with Kelvin, she was insolent towards me. But she later accepted and stopped insulting me,” she said.
She further said Kiptum was a responsible father who provided for their daughter.
“He kept providing for the child since I gave birth until the time when he passed away,’’ she said.
