Several Kenyan creatives have joined President William Ruto on the historic visit to the United States, including celebrated personalities Kate Actress and Eddie Butita. The duo announced their invitation by the US Government to attend a State dinner at the White House and a luncheon with renowned Hollywood movie producer Tyler Perry.
Kate Actress shared her excitement with her followers on Instagram posting an image of the White House and expressing gratitude to US Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman, for the invitation. “Good morning. This village girl will be attending the STATE DINNER at the White House & a Luncheon at the #TylerPerry studios in Atlanta by invitation from Her Excellency #AmbassadorMegWhitman. @usembassynairobi, your efforts and commitment towards the growth of the Kenyan creative economy are greatly appreciated,” she wrote.

Kate Actress also hilighted the challenges and progress of the Kenyan creative industry, saying, “If you see us artistes, especially actors, get emotional under this post, please understand that we were ignored and disrespected for so long by previous administrations. We contribute 5% of Kenya’s GDP. We matter.”
She continued to encourage aspiring actors, emphasizing the strides made in the industry and the importance of perseverance. “Dear young & ambitious Actor, we have done the crawling. Now walk with your backs high; it’s about time your craft takes care of you. The time is Now, keep reinventing yourself through your craft. We are not waiting until the end,” she advised.
Tyler Perry, a celebrated actor, filmmaker, and studio owner, will host the luncheon at his expansive 330-acre property in Atlanta, Georgia. Perry is celebrated for his numerous awards and significant contributions to the film industry.
