Julius Mbura: Inspiring Story of Blind Lawyer Who Reviews, Drives Cars

Julius Mbura originally lost his vision when he was ten years old.

He was transported to the hospital, and doctors were unable to diagnose the ailment. Following several hospital trips, he was diagnosed with Maculopathy Rentisis Pigemntosa.

The illness affects the retina, which is the component of the eye that receives and visualizes information. It advances gradually and eventually causes total blindness.

It neither stopped nor slowed him down. He completed his studies, including law school, and is now working to assist visually impaired people.

He works for Inable, a disability rights advocacy organization. Their goal is to help visually impaired people accept assistive technologies.

Julius defines himself as a blind lawyer who is passionate about automobiles. He is an automobile enthusiast. He is skilled at reviewing automobiles.

With touch and hearing, he can determine the sort of automobile, engine and even where the gear is located.

The lawyer does not simply review vehicles; he also drives them. When he gets behind the wheel, he is not overcome with fear of the unknown.

“I do everything by myself. I cook, clean and even bake,” he clarifies. I try to demystify the misconceptions about persons with disabilities. When people approach anybody with a disability they should not sympathize with us instead focus on what we have overcome,” he said.

His fresh lease on life is the outcome of acceptance. He encourages individuals to accept themselves and live their lives without apology.

“I see life through a different lens, something totally different from what people perceive is sight-I use my vision,” he said.
