Guardian Angel, a renowned Kenyan gospel artist, set up his own record label, 7 Heaven Music Studio, right in Karen. This studio is his pride and joy, a significant upgrade from his previous setups.
Guardian Angel spoke about his journey on his YouTube channel. He shared how he moved from recording in a makeshift studio in his bedroom in Athi River to now owning a fully-fledged professional studio.
When asked about the cost of this setup, he was a bit secretive. “Bro siezi sema, mi nilisema sipendi kusema mambo ya pesa. Bro, 5 million ni pesa ya kuanza kuambilia watu nimespend? siwezi ongellea mambo ya pesa. Mambo ya pesa mimi,” he said, shaking his hand to empasize his point. Although he didn’t give an exact figure, it’s clear the studio cost him millions.
The home studio features a hall of fame, lined with pictures showcasing his successful career. Guardian Angel believes that the environment where you record significantly impacts the final track or record. The state-of-the-art studio not only enhances the quality of his music but also serves as a motivational space.
When asked why he chose Karen as the location for his studio, Guardian Angel explained, “Because of the person that I am and the kind of people that I want to appeal to, nimekuwa msee wa Kinyota mimi. I also feel there is some kind of value.”
