Embarambamba Ordered to Delete All His YouTube Videos After Being Captured Dancing Naked in the Middle of a River

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has issued stern directives to Christopher Mosioma, alias Embarambamba, following concerns over the controversial content of his music videos.

The board’s action came after a meeting initiated due to what was described as “indecent content” in Embarambamba’s work.

In a statement released after the meeting, KFCB instructed Embarambamba to promptly delete all his music videos from his YouTube channel and other social media platforms within a two-day period, as per their earlier demand notice. Failure to comply with this directive would result in the initiation of further legal action against the singer.

Moreover, Embarambamba was directed to submit all his music videos to KFCB for examination and classification, aimed at determining their age appropriateness.

Additionally, he was mandated to acquire a filming license before embarking on any new productions, as required by Kenyan law.

The Board cited concerns regarding Embarambamba’s alleged violation of Sections 4 (Part II) and 12 of Cap 222, which governs the creation, broadcasting, possession, distribution, and exhibition of audio-visual content in Kenya.

Specifically, they pointed out instances of vulgarity, nudity, indecency, and violent dancing styles in his music videos.

“The song titled ‘Niko Uchi’, which is purported gospel, invites ridicule to the Christian religion, contains nudity and vulgarity,” Muluka said.

“It has further been noted that some of the artist’s dancing styles are violent and others present imitable behaviour, which if copied by children/minors, can be dangerous and disastrous,” she added.

This action by KFCB follows a similar directive issued the previous week, where Embarambamba and another gospel artist, William Getumbe, were instructed to remove their songs from all media platforms for violating the Films and Stage Plays Act.
