Detectives have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the murder of Eric Maigo, the Acting Finance Director of Nairobi Hospital, who was brutally killed on September 15, 2023.
In the latest developments in case, detectives have revealed that they have recovered clothes believed to have been worn by the main suspect responsible for the heinous crime.
The clothes, a red checkered shirt and a pair of grey animal-print pants, were discovered in a semi-permanent wooden shack deep within the sprawling Kibra slums.
The primary suspect in the case, identified as Ann Adhiambo, also known as “Nut,” is currently at large and is believed to be between 15 to 17 years old. She reportedly attended the Dagoretti Approved School and sat for her KCPE examination between 2021 and 2022.
Maigo was killed in the early hours of September 15, 2023, at his home in Woodley, Nairobi. His lifeless body was found in a pool of blood next to his bed. Two bloodstained knives, believed to be the murder weapons, were recovered from the scene.
According to government pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor, the cause of death was attributed to severe external and internal bleeding. Dr Oduor has shared his findings with the investigative team.
Detectives believe that the suspect was seen leaving Maigo’s home in Woodley Annex-Upper after the murder and managed to escape through the rear exit. Friends and neighbours of the deceased have reported that they do not recognize the mysterious woman.
