Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dr. Alfred Mutua is mourning the death of Francis Kinyua alias Mkirinyaga, the man who has been his barber for 24 years.
In a statement, the CS revealed Kinyua collapsed at his workplace on Sunday, June 2, before being pronounced dead later.
”Sad day. Heartbroken: It’s with great sadness and shock that I’ve Just received news that my barber of 24 years, Mr. Francis Kinyua, aka Mkirinyaga, collapsed at his workplace yesterday, and sadly he later passed away,”
”We met in the year 1999 at Kenyatta Market, and he has been my barber ever since. I have followed him to many Barber shops to date,” Mutua stated.
He added that Kinyua is the only barber who has cut his hair in Kenya and that last Thursday was the last day he enjoyed his services.
”He is the only barber who has cut my hair in Kenya (including just last Thursday). He was a man that I practically considered family,’’ stated Mutua.
The CS mentioned that the 55-year-old barber was diagnosed with high blood pressure before he took his last breath.
Expressing his heartfelt condolences to Kinyua’s family, the CS pledged to support his children to complete their studies.
”Rest In Peace, my dear friend. I will ensure that your children duly complete their studies. My sincere condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time of grief,’’ he added.
