East African Breweries PLC (EABL), in partnership with the United States International University-Africa (USIU), has today celebrated the graduation of 25 students living with disabilities from the inaugural DigiBility program.
Launched in March 2025, the DigiBility program is a marketing training initiative designed to bridge the digital divide through inclusive skills development.
EABL has committed KES6million towards accessible learning platforms, industry mentorship, and tailored career development for youth with disabilities.
The four-week program consists of eight expert-led sessions, covering content creation, social media, SEO, digital analytics, and paid advertising, culminating in a capstone project where students apply their lessons to real-world challenges.
“DigiBility is more than a training program. It’s a clear demonstration of what’s possible when corporate leadership is grounded in purpose and partnership,” said Professor Mwenda Ntarangwi, Vice Chancellor of USIU-Africa. “We are proud to stand with these 25 graduates as they step into the digital economy; confident, capable, and ready to lead.”
Designed with full accessibility in mind, DigiBility incorporates inclusive features such as large-font documents, closed captions, verbal instructions, and minimal use of visual-only content. Instructors included top professionals in digital marketing, creative direction, and content strategy.
This milestone marks a key achievement under EABL’s sustainability agenda, specifically within its “Championing Inclusion and Diversity” pillar, a commitment to creating a future where no one is left behind.
The program also opens post-graduation pathways, with outstanding students gaining access to mentorship, internship opportunities, and networking support through EABL, USIU, and industry partners.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mark Ocitti, Managing Director, Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), praised the graduates and reiterated EABL’s commitment to equity:
“We believe in the potential of every individual. Through DigiBility, we’re not just investing in skills: we’re investing in confidence, community, and change.”
DigiBility is part of EABL’s wider efforts under its Spirit of Progress sustainability strategy, which focuses on inclusion, positive drinking, and environmental stewardship across East Africa.
