HRMPEB releases April 2025 exam results and launches reforms to strengthen HR certification in Kenya

The Human Resource Management Professionals Examinations Board (HRMPEB) has officially released the results of the April 2025 , Certified Human Resource Professional and CBET Diploma & Certificate examinations, marking a major milestone for the profession in Kenya. The exams were conducted across seven examination centers nationwide between 9th and 16th April 2025.

A total of 1,758 candidates participated, 1,497 sat for the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) qualification, while 261 sat for the Diploma and Certificate in Human Resource exams. The April series marked the first sitting under HRMPEB’s newly introduced three-exam calendar, aimed at improving flexibility and access to certification for aspiring and practicing HR professionals.

According to HRMPEB Board Chair, CS Sharon Kisire, the Board has introduced several key reforms to make the certification process more progressive and inclusive. “Candidates can now receive certificates per part completed, recognizing their progress at every stage. This promotes structured advancement and keeps candidates motivated throughout their learning journey,” said CS Kisire.

She also highlighted the rollout of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme, which is currently underway. “This initiative offers an opportunity for experienced HR practitioners, to have their practical skills and expertise formally recognized,” she noted.

The RPL programme is expected to bridge a significant professional gap by validating years of hands-on experience for those who lacked access to formal HR certification. It is a transformative step toward inclusivity and fairness in the profession.

These reforms underscore HRMPEB’s commitment to strengthening the quality, accessibility, and credibility of HR certification in Kenya, a move that signals a bright future for the country’s growing HR community.
