Parents in 3 Tharaka schools kick out head teachers over poor results

Parents in Tharaka Nithi yesterday stormed three schools and kicked out the headteachers.

The angry parents accused the school heads of poor school management, poor performance in exams, and misappropriation of funds.

The parents of Nditune Secondary School in Maara Sub-County, kicked out Principal Fredrick Mutegi and nailed timber on his office door.

Parents at Ubarini Primary School in Tharaka Sub-County, withdrew their children from classrooms and held protests to the zonal educational offices demanding the removal of headteacher Peter Mutegi.

Parents at Gatituni Primary School in Chuka/Igambang’ombe, lamented that poor management coupled with misappropriation of funds have led to the school population dropping from 320 pupils to 140 in the last three years.
