As the month of April winds down, parents and children across the country are prepping for the beginning of this year’s schools second term.

Subsequently, in the coming few days, banking halls will turn into bee hives of activities as parents queue to send school fees, or withdraw monies for books and uniforms, or apply for salary advances. In any given instance, this is bound to be a tedious, time consuming task. However, you can easily beat this traffic from the comfort of your mobile phone by simply using the Co-operative Bank’s MCo-op Cash mobile app.

This easy-to-use app will allow you to access your account balances, transfer cash to mobile phone money platforms such as MPesa and Airtel Money, withdraw cash or make payments such as fees and bills for books and uniforms for free!

Unlike the traditional bankers cheques, you can use the send your child’s school fees from wherever you are whenever you like. Interestingly, you will only be required to include your child’s school codes in your payment. You can easily find all schools’ codes by clicking here: SCHOOL CODES

Apart from the burden of fees, many parents will be facing the tedious task of getting their children new uniforms, whose prices have been on an upward trend since January. For instance, by January, the prices of shorts, ties, sweaters, shirts and socks had risen by between Sh. 70 and Sh. 150. This increment saw parents acquiring three pairs of uniforms for a student cough up Sh. 8,640 up from Sh. 8,115.

However, with MCo-op Cash mobile App, parents may not have to worry as much as they did in January on where they are going to find extra cash for new uniforms or books. To begin with, the MCo-op Cash will allow you to borrow advance funds that are processed and deposited into your account instantly.

Interestingly, if you have a salary account at Co-operative Bank, you will automatically be eligible to get up advances of up to 150 per cent of your net salary. The icing on the cake is the low interest of just 1.16 per cent that the loan cost you. According to Co-op Bank, you will not be charged any facilitation fees or hidden fees for any amount of loan you take trough the MCo-op Cash.

In case you have scheduled to carry out your back-to-school shopping over the weekend, do not sweat over the closing of banks or lengthy queues at ATMs. Just take your mobile phone and head to the nearest Co-op Kwa Jirani agent where you can withdraw cash using the MCo-op Cash app.
