Should Ruto stop campaigning in some areas and let Uhuru do it?

Popular, independent blogger Wahome Thuku yesterday raised the question that might be troubling many Jubilee supporters.

This is after the deputy president William Ruto was heckled for the second time in a week.

The deputy president was on a string of rallies in the Western region but was stopped from addressing a scheduled rally at the Bungoma bus stage by rowdy youths. The violent youths even forced him to change his route.

Last week, the deputy president was involved in another set of heckling. This time, he was heckled in Narok County by a section of the crowd.

According to Wahome Thuku, it is time the deputy president took a back seat and allowed the president to campaign in certain regions. The blogger pointed out that the deputy president risked losing the in-roads that Jubilee might have made in the opposition strongholds.

“LOOKS like for Jubilee to make inroads in some areas, and many of them actually, Mr Kenyatta must take himself there to campaign. Some people were not given good verbal and body language. They might drive away even the weakest vote already captured by Jubilee,” said Wahome Thuku.

Following the heckling incident in Narok, the blogger came out to state that the Narok voters appear to have a problem with one side of the Jubilee party, but have no problem with the president. He said: “Reading papers early morning today, something told me some people would be heckled in Narok. Anyone who interacts with the locals knows it. And I have been to Narok several times. That ground has no problem with one arm of Jubilee but detests the other arm completely.”
