Opposition leader Raila Odinga would win the presidential elections if they were to be held today. This is according to a twitter poll sanctioned by prominent lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi.

According to the poll, Raila would take 60 per cent of votes while Uhuru would take 40 per cent.

“Polls closed. A total 7,012 voters cast their votes. Uhuru 40%…Raila 60%,” Ahmednasir announced.

However, Newsday Kenya could not independently verify the accuracy of the poll, which attracted both positive and negative feedback.

According to supporters aligned to President Uhuru’s Jubilee party, supporters of Cord leader Raila had taken to re-tweeting their ‘votes’ to boost their candidate’s lead.

“Tired argument. Do your research better,” former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth said.

On the other end, controversial personality Esther Passaris came in the poll’s support. “@ahmednasirlaw current results makes one wonder about the recent released opinion poll on the same?,” she said.

senators, politicians and journalists were among those who took part in the poll.
