Comedian cum Politician John Kiarie aka KJ was on Thursday declared the Winner of Dagoretti South Jubilee ticket after beating incumbent Dennis Waweru.

Kiarie garnered 9,793 while Waweru got 9, 052 in the results that were announced on Thursday.

The elated KJ thanked his supporters and opponents for maintaining peace throughout the campaign period.

This is the third time KJ has contested the Dagoretti south seat (formerly Dagoretti).In 2007 and 2013,he ran on ODM ticket but lost to Beth Mugo and Dennis Waweru respectively.

KJ started off as a comedian in the famous Reddykyulass,a comedy show that premiered on local TV channel in late 90’s.

Dennis Waweru had indicated his intentions to run for the Nairobi city county gubernatorial race.He however bolted out quietly after an agreement was crafted to have Peter Kenneth go it alone.
