Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance party, has urged his supporters to be prepared for mass action planned for next week.

He gave a 14-day ultimatum to President William Ruto to lower the cost of living, which will lapse on Wednesday, March 8. If Ruto does not lower the prices of basic commodities, Raila will lead Kenyans in storming State House.

Speaking at the burial ceremony of Luo elder Ker Willis Opiyo Otondi in Kisumu county, Raila said he won the August 9th, 2022, presidential election, only to be rigged by former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman, Wafula Chebukati. He revealed that he has a dossier showing how Chebukati rigged the election using servers.

Instead of the coalition’s top leadership being tasked with organizing mass rallies as in the past, Raila has shifted the responsibility to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) county officials.

Raila said that ODM officials at county levels will ensure that the entire country participates in the mass rallies. He further revealed that he will give a new direction on the route of mass rallies on Wednesday, March 8, when his 14-day ultimatum to Ruto elapses.

Raila addressed the disputed outcome of the August 9, 2022, general elections, saying that the courts were not truthful, but they now know how the elections were bungled. To address the issue, the ODM party leader directed the party’s county officials to mobilize supporters across the country as they wait for his signal on March 8.

“In four days, I will tell you the way forward. I will come and tell you the route that we will take. We cannot go to the 2027 general elections with the current Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC),” he said.
