ODM leader and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been cleared by the IEBC to run for the presidency in the upcoming August General Elections.
Raila was cleared on Sunday by the IEBC after he submitted his nomination papers to the commission at the KICC.
“Having reviewed the documents presented before me and his running mate, they have met the qualifications to vie for the elections,” IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati said.
After receiving his certificate, Raila expressed optimism that he will clinch the presidency.
“This is a very defining moment and I am very happy to be here. This is a very important occasion, with me i have my running mate and NASA pentagon team plus my wife madam Ida,” he said.
