Gor Mahia officials in panic as only team bus seized and sold

Since their team bus was impounded due to a debt owed to former player Wellington Ochieng’, Gor Mahia players have been facing transportation challenges, having to rely on public transport to attend training and matches.

The bus, which has been the club’s sole means of transportation since 2013, was seized by auctioneers on March 7, leaving the players without their usual mode of transportation.

Gor Mahia, one of Kenya’s most successful football clubs, has been grappling with financial challenges in recent years. The impounding of their team bus has added to their woes, as it has disrupted their logistics and affected the team’s mobility.

Previously, the bus was used to transport players to and from training sessions, matches, and other club-related activities, providing them with a reliable and convenient mode of transportation.

Ochieng’s lawyer, Rosemary Monyangi, remained tight-lipped about the situation, simply stating, “If the bus is sold, you will know.” T

his has left Gor Mahia fans anxious about the fate of their beloved team bus, which has been a symbol of pride and identity for the club.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia officials have put on a brave face, with vice chairman Francis Wasuna and club secretary general Sam Ochola providing limited comments.

Wasuna, who is also a lawyer by profession, stated that he could only talk about the issue on a week day, while Ochola mentioned that the club had not been informed of any auction taking place.

“I don’t know whether the bus has been auctioned or not but this is an issue which can be talked about on a working day,” said Wasuna as quoted by Daily Nation.
