Renowned comedian and MC, Dr Ofweneke, recently made waves in the entertainment industry as the master of ceremony at Akothee’s royal wedding held at Windsor Hotel in Nairobi.
In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Dr Ofweneke revealed that Akothee had met his rate card and he had already received his payment, hinting that he was the highest-paid MC in Kenya with an amount rumored to be over Sh 1.4 million.
“My money is already in the bank as we speak. I was paid good money and she fulfilled her pledge,” he said. Although he declined to reveal the exact amount he was paid, Ofweneke hinted that it was over Sh 1.4M, making him the highest-paid MC in Kenya.” Ofweneke told Nairobi News.
One of the reasons he was chosen as Akothee’s MC, Ofweneke claimed it was because he works with people who rebuke and criticize him with love, and he is ready to serve them in return without charging them for his services.
Dr Ofweneke’s success as an MC has been evident in various high-profile events, including the fundraising, requiem mass, and burial of TV anchor Catherine Kasavuli, where he was the MC.
Looking ahead, Dr Ofweneke hinted that he might be on his way to MC Akothee’s second wedding in Europe, further showcasing his popularity and demand in the entertainment industry.
He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host two of the most talked-about events in 2023, highlighting the honor he feels in his role as an MC.
