Kenya has recorded 85 more Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours raising the total caseload to 99,983.
Unfortunately, 4 fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,744.
In a statement on Sunday, January 24, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 2,985 samples had been tested over the period. The country has so far conducted 1,156,106 Covid-19 tests.
Of the positive cases, 46 are male and 39 are female. The youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is 88 years.
A total of 33 patients have recovered from the disease, 25 being from the Home-Based Care Program, while 8 have been discharged from various hospitals. The total recoveries now stand at 82,969.
Currently, there are 545 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 1,568 on Home Based Isolation and Care.
27 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 15 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 11 on supplemental oxygen. Two are on observation.
Another 14 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 10 of them in the general wards.
There are four patients in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
In terms of Sub County distribution; the 70 cases in Nairobi are from Dagoretti North (21), Westlands (6), Starehe (5), Kasarani and Ruaraka (4) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi Central, Embakasi West, Kamukunji, Kibra, Lang’ata, Makadara and Roysambu (3) cases each, Embakasi South and Mathare (2) cases each, Embakasi East and Embakasi North (1) case each .
The 2 cases in Kiambu are from Ruiru and Thika (1) case each, the 2 cases in Makueni, are from Makueni, the 2 cases in Mombasa, are from Mvita, the 2 cases in Nyeri, are from Nyeri Central and the 2 cases in Nakuru, are from Naivasha and Nakuru West (1) case each.
The case in Laikipia is from Laikipia East, the case in Machakos is from Machakos Town, the case in Narok is from
Narok North, the case in Nyandarua, is from Ol Kalou and the case in Trans Nzoia , is from Cherangany.
