Covid-19 Update: New Cases 69, 449 Recoveries, No Fatalities- Total no of Cases 100,052

69 people have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,814 tested in the last 24 hours. This takes the cumulative confirmed positive cases to 100,052.

Since the start of the pandemic, 1,158,920 samples have been tested for the virus across the country. From the positive cases, 56 are Kenyans while 17 are foreign nationals. 52 are males while 17 are females.

The youngest of the cases is a 12 – year – old child while the oldest is aged 99.

The Ministry of Health announced that 449 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus. 269 are from various health facilities across the country while 180 are from the Home – Based Isolation and Care program. The total recoveries now stand at 83,418.

No patients have succumbed to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours stunting the cumulative fatalities in the country at 1,744.

Currently, 506 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,469 are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 25 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit ( ICU ), 13 of whom are on ventilatory support and 11 on supplemental oxygen. 1 patient is under observation.

Another 17 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 10 of them in the general wards across the country. 7 patients are in the High
Dependency Unit.

The cases were distributed across the counties as follows; Nairobi 49, Kitui 9, Mombasa 2, Machakos 1, Busia 1, Garissa 1, Kajiado 1, Kisumu 1, Kwale 1, Meru 1, Trans Nzoia 1, and Uasin Gishu 1.

The 49 cases in Nairobi were distributed as follows; Lang’ata ( 11 ) , Kibra ( 6 ), Westlands ( 5 ), Embakasi Central , Embakasi West, Kasarani and Makadara ( 3 ) cases each. Dagoretti North , Embakasi South , Kamukunji , Roysambu and Ruaraka ( 2 )cases each.

Dagoretti South, Embakasi East, Embakasi North, Mathare, and Starehe ( 1 ) case each.

In Kitui, all the 9 cases are from Kitui Central. In Mombasa, the 2 cases are from Changamwe and Mvita ( 1 ) case each.

The case in Machakos is from Kangundo, the case in Busia is from Teso South, the case in Garissa is from Garissa Town, the case in Kajiado is from Loitokitok, the case in Kisumu is from Kisumu East, the case in Kwale is from Msambweni, the case in Meru is from Imenti Central, the case in Trans Nzoia is from Kiminini and the case in Uasin Gishu is from Ainabkoi.
