Kenya Police have reportedly outbid Gor Mahia for the services of Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Tyson Otieno.

It was a race between Gor Mahia and the Police, but the latter, who came knocking on Otieno’s door late, have won the race for the highly-rated midfielder.

For some time, Otieno was seen as destined to join KOgalo, but the entry of the Police changed the matrix, and finally the Enforcers are set to land their target.

Since they were promoted to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, Police have been on the hunt for experienced players. The stars signed helped the club rise and finally ended the season sitting third.

Baraka Badi, Clifton Miheso, Aboud Omar, Elvis Rupia, Francis Kahata, and Patrick Matasi are some of the players who were signed to give the team a competitive edge.

All of them were regularly used, and Rupia went on to finally beat Gor Mahia’s Benson Omala to the Golden Boot by a goal.

The arrival of Otieno is expected to boost the midfield department, which was largely run by Charles Ouma and Marvin Nabwire. Police are expected to be busy in the transfer window as they aim to get the top players on the market in order to take a shot at more titles next season.
