President Uhuru Kenyatta has been elected to serve as the president of Kenya for his second and final term.

The president was declared winner of the just concluded General Elections by the IEBC’s national returning officer, Mr. Wafula Chebukati.

He garnered 8,203,290 votes representing 54.27 per cent of votes cast.

He attained wins in 35 counties which met the 25 counties threshold requisite to become president.

The president was followed by NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga who garnered 6,772,224 votes representing 44.74 per cent.

He attained wins in 29 counties.

The declaration of the presidential results was made at Bomas of Kenya.

Earlier on, NASA leaders led by Musalia Mudavadi had declined to await the announcement of the results.

They have been claiming that the results are not a true reflection of the actual vote.

However, NASA ha failed to produce substantial evidence to back up their case.
