More than 30 Jubilee Members of Parliament met with President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at State House, Nairobi, on Wednesday to discuss the government’s development agenda.

The parliamentarians pledged to work with the government to advance its initiatives, putting political differences aside to prioritize the people’s needs.

The President emphasized the critical role of Parliament in enacting laws that supported the government’s agenda and stated that the MPs are now considered members of the government and will be treated as such.

President Ruto also acknowledged the ongoing drought crisis and said that the government will scale up its provision of food and water from next week.

The Parliamentarians, led by Balambala MP Omar Shurie, Eldas MP Adan Keynan and Isiolo Women Representative Fatuma Dullo, emphasized their close relationship with the President and said that all they have done is “come back home”.

The news consequently rattled the Azimio brigade as Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina urged former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s intervention.

“Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, please Ask Uhuru to come and speak to your members or all of them will fold,” he stated.
