Unit prices cool as investments in new housing projects stagnate

    Investments in housing slowed in 2021 leading to a decline in unit prices according to the Housing Price Index report by the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA).

    The report indicates that the decline reflects headwinds in the economy that influenced both demand and supply. House prices on average went down by 1.82pc in the first quarter of 2021, overturning the marginal recovery of 0.22pc recorded in the fourth quarter of 2020.
