The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has reasserted its political dominance and connection with the grassroots following a decisive clean sweep in the recent by-elections. The ruling party won crucial seats across three counties, showing ongoing voter confidence in the government’s core policies.
Party leadership has hailed the victories as validation of UDA’s extensive grassroots network and public support for the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). By electing UDA representatives, voters have shown their belief in the party’s vision for economic empowerment.
The mini-polls had substantial margins for UDA candidates at both parliamentary and civic levels:
Emurua Dikirr Constituency: David Kipsang Keter won the parliamentary seat with 18,266 votes.
Endo Ward (Elgeyo Marakwet County): Festus Korir Kiprop secured the civic seat with 4,475 votes.
UDA turns focus to grassroots as coast tour signals early 2026 political mobilisation
Porro Ward (Samburu County): Daniel Lolngojine won the ward with 2,328 votes.
Welcoming the victories, UDA Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan expressed humility on behalf of the party. Accompanied by Director of Communication Nathaniel Mong’are, Senator Hassan thanked the voters and stated that the party does not take these mandates for granted.
“It is with humility that I sincerely thank the voters for their unwavering belief in the Party,” said Senator Hassan.
The party used its post-election press briefing to shift from celebrating to addressing national governance challenges, focusing on economic pressures facing citizens. With worries about oil supply fluctuations due to the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, UDA leadership offered essential reassurance.
Senator Hassan confirmed that the government has ensured a steady fuel supply through the Government-to-Government framework. He also noted that KES 5 billion has been set aside to stabilize pump prices and support Kenyans facing inflation. This dual focus on winning elections while managing the economy emphasizes UDA’s strategic approach to leadership.
