The leading retailer in the greater Eastern Africa region is making a return to the legacy highway, Thika Road, with its 103rd outlet, the second one this year. This branch comes barely a month after the opening of the retailer’s 1o2nd branch at Mwanzi Market along Mwanzi Road in Westlands. The opening of this outlet brings the total count of branches in the greater Thika Road region to 12 comprising all store formats that the retailer operates. The outlet sits at a strategic mixed-use development that has various complementary businesses.

These are a popular multinational fast-food chain and a petrol station. All of these, work in perfect synergy to fulfill the needs of every shopper who will stop at this establishment. Over and above the development satisfying more than one customer need, it is easily accessible from the highway and one can easily join back and continue with their journey. However, the most critical for us is that the new store is stocked with a variety of quality products to choose from ranging from fresh
produce, commodities, and fast-moving consumer goods.

“Even as we celebrate this milestone, we are cognizant of the fact that we are in unchartered waters by being the very first supermarket in the country to scale beyond 100 branches. We are however confident that this is a success story that will be written in the annuals of history and research papers done by generations to come. Our founders, the Mukuha family, set very strong foundations, and as the business scale introduced key partners at a critical point to strengthen corporate governance. The lead in a consortium of investors, IBL, brings with it a legacy of 190 years of a successful global family business, a huge plus for us,”

remarked Andreas von Paleske, Chief of Operations Naivas.

“Our mission has always been to provide a world-class shopping experience and we have kept true to this by opening and operating outlets that stand shoulder to shoulder with global brands. We keep true to our roots and anyone who walks into any of our outlets, walks out having experienced true authentic Kenyan hospitality.

Beyond the mission, we made a promise to Kenyans to “save youmoney” We continue to do so especially now that Kenyans are hard-pressed for cash, we are doing our bit in offering a reprieve to them against the hard times. As is our tradition, we have many goodies in store for Survey customers not just during the opening but moving forward,”

said PeterMukuha, Chief of Operations Naivas.

Some of the upcoming outlets are Lang’ata and Buruburu.
